July 2007.
Thanks to the children, parents, staff and friends of Woody's, we have just purchased the newest revolutionary safety harness for the children at nursery. Our new Walkodile device is the newest invention on the market and we are one of the first nurseries in Essex to own one. The nursery staff and children did a sponsored 30 minute walk to raise funds to pay for the Walkodile. We would like to say a BIG thank you to all of those who sponsored the children and for those who helped out on the day. We managed to raise enough money to purchase the Walkodile and with the extra money raised we purchased some new giant building blocks for the children.
Here at Woody's, we take the safety of children in our care very seriously and this new harness will help keep the children even safer on trips out of the nursery. Please see the walkodile website for further information and details. www.walkodile.com .

TENDRING HUNDRED SHOW 2007.
On Saturday 14th of July, we took part in exhibiting our nursery children's beautiful work at the tendring show. The theme was 'the circle of life'. We chose to do three different themes for this. the first was the life of the frog, the second of a caterpillar and the third, sunflowers. On the tadpole to frog display, we made up some water crystals with poppy seeds mixed in which made it look and feel just like frog spawn. We had so many visitors to the stand saying how great it was. If you were one of those people who visited, thank you for taking the time to look at our stand.
We are really proud of what the children achieved for our display and look forward to exhibiting again next year. Please see gallery for pictures of the stands.

Red nose day.
16th March 2007, postponed to 23rd of March 2007 due to chicken pox outbreak!!.
Our red nose day had to be re-scheduled due to half the children being absent with chicken pox in the week of 16th of march. We held our fun day on the 23rd of march when the children were all better and not so spotty!!!
A big thank you to all staff, parents and friends of Woody's Day Nursery that helped to raise nearly £100 for comic relief. The children who came along for our fun day had a lovely time in their pyjamas, having a teddy bear's picnic, biscuit decorating, red nose funny face drawing and other fun games and activities that were put on. All staff joined in too by wearing their pyjamas and bringing in a favourite teddy. Well done everybody. Every little bit of money helps comic relief in their many projects for people all over the world.
